Signature Sessions
Let’s create something that makes you feel
Thoughtfully designed for your immediate family, Signature Sessions are natural, candid and focused on capturing moments as they naturally occur. A glance, a touch, the way your little girl nuzzles into your chest, how your son wraps his tiny hand around your finger. Don’t worry, I’ll be right there with you — offering gentle guidance throughout your shoot — and we’ll have fully prepared you for this day in detail, hand-in-hand. A perceptive observer, I take an intentional, documentary-style approach to photographing families, shooting those who are looking for something different. If you want a traditional portrait with everyone facing the camera, be sure to say so. Otherwise, it might not happen. What you’ll get instead are frozen snippets of time; beautiful, natural light; movement, touch and connection. If your images make you feel as much as they make you smile, I’ll have done my job well.
Your shoot also includes the gift of time. For you: time to exhale, enjoy your surroundings and connect with your family in your own way. For your little ones: time to play, explore, be curious, even take a break from the camera if that’s what they need — all without fear that we’re running out of time. From our hellos to our goodbyes, our time together will last approximately 90 minutes. Setting the stage for a relaxed experience and preserving genuine moments of interaction with your family is my only priority when we're together, and I'll be blocking out my day for you. I never schedule more than one shoot per day. Your Signature Session will produce a collection of heirloom images you’ll be proud to hang on your wall and pass down to your children some day.
Signature Sessions begin at $1,250. You commit to a $575 deposit, or “session fee” up front, which includes detailed communications via any combination of email, text and phone; in-depth wardrobe consultation personalized for your family and style; the shooting time itself and my editing time on the back end. Your session fee does not include any digital images or prints. You’ll pay for those only after you’ve previewed your finished gallery and chosen the photography package you like best. There are four packages to pick from. The cost of your package is in addition to your session fee. A travel fee to cover time and expenses will be applied to all shoots more than 15 miles outside Santa Barbara. It will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, depending on where you are and the length of my stay. I’m available for travel anywhere.
